Chemical packaging on Kypson today covers dry product in bulk and in sacks: FIBCs from 250 kilograms to two tonnes, woven polypropylene bags for 10 to 50 kilogram packs, and the PE liners that go inside either. Jars, containers and closures for liquids are part of the group and not yet listed. What separates chemicals from other bulk goods is that three requirements come before price: electrostatic safety where a flammable atmosphere is possible, containment that keeps a fine powder in and moisture out, and certification where the product is classed as dangerous goods. Each is a field on the RFQ form, and each changes which bag is quoted.

Electrostatic type comes first
FIBCs are classed by how they handle static, and the spec sheet offers all four. Type A has no electrostatic protection and suits products with no flammable dust or vapour present. Type B limits the energy of discharges and is used where flammable dust may be present but no flammable vapour. Type C is conductive and must be earthed during filling and discharge, for flammable atmospheres. Type D dissipates charge without earthing, for the same atmospheres where earthing cannot be guaranteed. The choice is made from the product's dust explosion data and the atmosphere at the filling point, not from the bag catalogue, and an RFQ that states the hazard lets the supplier quote the right type rather than the cheapest. UN-certified bulk bags for dangerous goods are available on request per the sheet and should be asked for by name.
Containment: liners, seams and closures
Fine powders need sift-proof seams, and the sheet's own guidance is to state particle size so the supplier can build for it. A PE liner — 20 to 70 microns, LDPE or HDPE — inside a bulk bag or a woven sack adds a moisture and contamination barrier and can be loose or form-fitted; a form-fit liner in a baffled bag fills more evenly and discharges cleaner. Drum and box liners, which the same PE category covers, need their gusset dimensions stated to fit the container. For woven sacks, lamination provides moisture resistance without a separate liner, at the cost of breathability, and the two should not be specified together without a reason. Discharge spouts and closures on bulk bags are chosen for the product's flow, and a powder that bridges in a plain spout is a filling-line problem that was avoidable on the form.
What moves the price, and what buyers get wrong
Fabric weight of 140 to 200 GSM, the electrostatic type — C and D cost more than A — a baffled construction, the liner, UN certification, and whether the bag is single-trip at a 5:1 safety factor or multi-trip at 6:1. Minimums on the standard sheets are 500 bulk bags, 1,000 sacks and 5,000 liners. The mistakes are consistent: not stating product form and bulk density, which size the bag; not stating whether the bag will be lifted more than once; and omitting the hazard class, which is the one omission that produces a bag that is unsafe rather than merely wrong. A chemical RFQ that carries product form, density, hazard class, trip use and moisture sensitivity can be quoted correctly first time.

Which FIBC type do I need for a flammable powder?
If a flammable atmosphere can be present at filling or discharge, Type C with earthing or Type D where earthing cannot be guaranteed. Type B where flammable dust but no flammable vapour is present. Type A only where neither is. The decision comes from the product's dust explosion data; state the hazard on the RFQ.
Do I need a UN-certified bulk bag?
If the product is classed as dangerous goods for transport, yes, and the certification should be named on the RFQ. The spec sheet lists UN-certified bags as available on request, which is a different product from a standard FIBC, not an add-on.
Can woven PP sacks carry chemicals?
For dry, non-hazardous product in 10 to 50 kilogram packs, yes: 60 to 80 GSM fabric, laminated for moisture resistance or with a PE liner, printed with the handling warnings the product needs. Hazardous or flammable product moves the decision to a typed FIBC.
